Markings
Markings come from two genes, Leopard (L) and Pinto (P). Both are dominant, so one copy is enough.
| Genes | Marking |
|---|---|
| Neither | No markings |
| Leopard only | Dots. Either black dots or white dots |
| Pinto only | A white marking. Either a plain white pattern or a whitefield |
| Leopard and Pinto | Whitefield |
When a horse could show one of two looks, the game picks between them at random.
Planning a spotted foal#
Because both genes are dominant, a horse with nL or LL will always show spots. A foal only gets a Leopard gene if at least one parent passes it on, so if neither parent carries L, a spotted foal cannot appear.
